Today's hike was decidedly slow, so that no one lagged behind or had to breathe hard. It was a perfect event for folks to talk with each other, and to get acquainted with our two newbies, Nicole (on her 3rd AOC event), and Dennis W. (on his very first hike with the club).

We limited the distance to 3 miles today to make sure the heat didn't become a factor and to keep the event to a true D1 - - no elevation to speak of, moderately leisure pace, easy footing.
