Oh, it was hot and muggy today. Five of the group (Mike, Suzanne, George, Russ, and I) were leg-weary from our three days at Amicalola Falls, so combined with the heat, we took the pace down a notch getting in just under 5 miles today. I think it's safe to say, our clothes were drenched by the end of the hike.

A surprise pop-up thunderstorm passed overhead when our members were driving out of the parking lot. We were lucky to miss the rain!

It was great to come across some of the Renegades today as they were gathering for their hike. Also, Susan F. and Frances came through the parking lot, finishing their morning hike as we were greeting the Renegades. So nice to run into good friends this morning!

Maurice and our newbie Sarah (with just 5 events) made it first up the warm-up hill. It was tough up that hill this morning!

I think we're all looking forward to fall weather. This summer heat really makes hiking challenging.
