What began as an original D1 quickly turned into an absolutely fantastic D2 adventure. Our adventurous group of 13 fast hikers powered through 4.5 miles in 1 hour and 24 minutes, keeping a steady, spirited pace from start to finish. Today’s hikers included Luz, Laura D., Kirsten B., Seth M., Tom B., Yvonne N., Mel, Joyce T., Richard H., Fred, P, Jim A, Pam E, and Erica B. 

A huge shout‑out to brand‑new AOC hikers Pam E. and Mel. for completing their first of many hikes with the club. They crushed it and blended right in with this speedy, enthusiastic group.

Along the way, we enjoyed the peaceful flow of Rottenwood Creek, the wide, shimmering Chattahoochee River, and even spotted a stunning blue heron posing perfectly along the water’s edge. It was the perfect morning on the trail.
