We had 15 hikers who braved the heat on our hike at Jones Bridge CRNRA this morning. We slowed the pace down a bit and made plenty of water stops, so everybody was able to maintain the pace with no problems. Maurice spotted a fawn by the side of the trail. We also saw what looked like a group of comorants sitting upstream on some rocks. Of course, there were plenty of geese to be seen. I just spotted a lizard that ran across the trail in front of us.

We welcomed a bunch of Newbies on the hike. Sara, Santiago and Randy were on their 1st AOC hike. Debbie and Michael were on their 2nd, Susan on her 3rd, and Laura was on her 5th. I hope you all had a good time and will join us for many more hikes in the future.

I heard a bunch of Jibber-Jabber and laughing coming from the group, so I think everyone had a good time. I know I did.
