The falls colors were great to hike though with temperatures that make hiking enjoyable. They are building a new Visitor Center, thus we met at the temporary Visitor Center and got directions to the trail heads. After driving to the other parking lot, we did introductions. We did the Overlook Trail, from there we did the Waterfalls Trail first going to Cherokee Falls, the lower one with all the steps, then Hemlock Falls, the upper one. This is my fifth time here, as you will see in the pictures there is only a trickle of water going over both falls. That tells you how much rain we have not had. Preceding to the West Ridge Trail, we hiked it in a clockwise direction when we came to the loop. We took a nice break on one of the many overlooks we passed. Upon finishing the West Ridge Trail, we returned to the parking lot.
