We had a full house of 15 hikers today at Jones Bridge CRNRA. We could not have asked for better weather. We had sunny skies with temperatures from the mid 60s to the low 70s. Let's hope fall is really here. We hiked 5.8 miles with 371 feet of elevation in 2:19. Hike well done folks.
The trails were in excellent condition considering our recent rains. We were able to maintain a good pace with no stragglers.
We welcomed 3 Newbies on the hike. Amanda was on her 4th AOC hike, Susan was on her 6th, and Santiago was on his 7th. They all fit in very well with the group and I hope they will join us for many more in the future.
We saw a couple of young deer on the trail. They were not interested in hiking with us. There was lots of jibber-jabbering and laughing, so I think everybody had a good time.
