Write Up:

We had 15 riders Sunday with pleasant weather in the low 60s.   The trail, opened in 2009, was new to nearly all of the riders.  After a brief review of riding protocol and basic skiills, we broke into 2 groups.  Charlie Cottingham, who has ridden with me before at Harbins, led about 7 folks on a more casually paced ride.  That group rode about 5 miles or so out to the creek crossing (pictured).  The rest of us added another 4 miles on the back loop (#4).   Interestingly, we discovered from some SORBA-Gwinnett folks who were out riding that the new 7.5 mile "5th Loop", accessed via the 1st loop, had JUST OPENED THIS WEEK.   We didn't ride it, since it's a more technical trail (and new trails are more difficult to ride at 1st), but rest assured we'll be back out in the spring or summer to investigate it!   Thanks to everyone for making it a great day on the trail, and I hope you add Harbins to your regular ride routine!
