What an incredible weekend! Despite the chance of rain, we didn't see a single drop. Not 1! Most of the people who signed up also backed out at the last minute and there was just 4 of us for this amazing weekend.

We started our weekend adventure Saturday afternoon with a heavy mile or so bushwhack to try to see Flat Creek Falls from the opposite side of the ravine. Unfortunately, after trudging over 2 knobs and then to the top of a small mountain, all we could do is hear it :( The tree canopy was just too thick to see anything off the hill. It was still a good warm-up and we bushwhacked back to camp to rest, eat, relax and prepare ourselves for the following day.

Sunday afternoon, we conquered the Bonas Defeat Gorge. After a short car shuttle, a little bushwhacking, some wondering around on gravel roads and maybe a tiny but of trespassing, we found the dam and top of the gorge. The next 5 hours were spent scrambling over and under house-size boulders, wading through the creek and taking lots of pictures. We saw some snakes, swam in some potholes (COLD WATER!) and conquered endless boulder fields. Afterward, we all felt like ninja warriors and celebrated by the campfire.

On Monday, we paid a little visit to Hidden Falls. Papi braved the falls and climbed up for a cold shower. After relaxing there for a few, we piled into the cars and headed out for some lunch and the ride home.
