Write Up:
We had a perfect group and weather for this outdoor climb. It was great to see everyone give  almost every route a chance. The I want a Pepsi route was a good indicator on the difference between indoor and outdoor climbing. This 5.6 route was a decent warm-up as well as a challenge for those who needed it. Christina did an amazing job of blowing past her initial goals set for the route.

The 5.11 start on the next climb earned the route a few unprintable new names by Adam.  Thanks to a little assists from belayers, a few were able to make it up that start. While those that went around it had beautiful views when they made it to the top. Jessica took time at the middle of the route to have a photo-op and demonstrate excellent flexibility while smiling for the camera.

John Bell was able to conquer his nemsis on Mickey's Mantel, this crux (the mantel) was also conquered by most in the group. Seriously nice job on that one!

The now named running man route will be left for future flails. Jason did a valiant try on that, with Rachel proving that it could be done (even if it was a bit of a treadmill in air). The video of this might go viral on YouTube.

Keith and John picked a great explorers route, By Gully, making the solid decision to not risk a deck fall on lead but top rop the climb. Apart from needles in the pants by Tom, avoiding a few rocks coming down (helmets were proven to be a healthy addition to outdoor climbing) and the odd how do I get around the tree - the climb was a fun addition.

Bob did a fantastic job of attempting the gully hike, but alas, the four paws could not get a grasp and he had to hike the trail out.

Nice climbing with you guys, even better, the sportsmanship and willingness to help each other out is well appreciated. Adam and Jason - thank you for providing the variety of libations at the end of the day. The after climb Smokin Pig was a good way to wind down and get to know each other a little bit better.

Our next large outing that on the AOC calendar is our annual RockTown camping and climbing weekend. It is quite fun, we would welcome you to join in.

Have a great week, climb safe.
