We all met in front of the Visitors center at 12 PMand got a chance to learn about each others hikingexperiences. Mike has hiked large stretches of theAppalachian trail in Georgia and South Carolina.

The weather was fantastic with a slight breeze thatseemed to cool us off when we most needed it. Wewalked up the Old Mountain Top trail and took somepictures of the hilly green landscape. From the topof the Mountain we hiked what the Kennesaw Mountainofficials deemed to be a Very strenuous trail toBurnt Hickory Road. Ironically we found theman-inserted railroad ties (hurdles) to be the mostdangerous thing on the trail.

By the time we reached Burnt Hickory Road the grouphad hiked 2.7 miles. The total hike lasted 2 hoursand 45 minutes and covered 5.6 miles of land.

After we were done hiking we all met at Felinis onRoswell road for some high quality refreshments andgreat pizza. What better way to top off a good day of hiking.
