Write Up:
Richard Zalik led an adventurous hike at Mason Mill Park. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We started on the trail near the parking lot and proceeded for about half a mile around the park until we crossed some railroad tracks and then an old bridge. We walked on parts of the white, red and blue trails in a loop between two creeks in a pine forest. Along the way we saw the ruins of the old Decatur waterworks, which were abandoned in the 1940's. We walked alongside the parks' numerous ball fields where we stopped for water and bathroom breaks before returning along the trail they way we came. - submitted by Courtney H.
