Rabun Bald
We had a small but good group and excellent weather. The ascent to Rabun Bald lived up to its reputation as having some steep sections and got everyone's heart pumping. While relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze at the Rabun Bald tower we were able to identify Mt Albert and Standing Indian. Tray, Brasstown and other mountains were visible but we could not positively identify them. After leaving the tower we climbed over, around or cleared some trees blown over the trail in last week's storms on the way to the overlook where we had lunch. We returned the way we came and some of us stopped for dinner in Clayton.

This has been one of my favorite solo hikes and was even better as a group hike. My thanks to everyone that signed up.
