Write Up:

We had a great morning hike yesterday at Stone Mountain's Cherokee Trial, a 5.5 mile loop around the base of Stone Mountain. The weather was slowly reaching 80 degrees as the day proceeded on. We ended up with a group of only women which was a ton of fun. We started at the base of Confederate Hall and head up the mountain along the granite rocks. We then proceeded down the mountain and hiked though the surrounding woods of the park and around the lakes. We headed back up the mountain along the granite towards the last half mile of our hike which gave everyone a good aerobic work out. We then proceeded back down the mountain to the parking lot. We kept a good pace, enjoyed good conversation amongst the group and ended the hike in 2.5 hours as we predicted. We had some new AOC members in the group who told us this was their first hike and they are looking forward to many more events. We had a fantastic group and had a great day.
