Write Up:

Our group was greeted by two snakes, one a small corn snake, at the beginning of the trail. We paused to admire their colors and were astonished by the speed in which one made its departure. With a little later of a start time than planned and a lot of ground to cover everyone did a great job keeping with the pace. We were surrounded with greenery all around as we hiked through this nicely wooded area. Various songbirds filled the warm air with their wonderful whistles and songs replacing the lively conversation as the pace quickened. We made our way up the hills, around bends, and from one end of the park to the other and back.

The Chattahoochee River beckoned with its cool waters after the end of a great workout. Near the end of the trail we met a friendly frog who appeared to not mind our presence or the paparazzi-like photos as he enjoyed his moments of fame. Following his departure we exited the woods and made it back to our cars exactly on time. : )
