Our friendly AOC "subgroup" of nine members greatly enjoyed meeting with the GA Conservancy, their invited speakers and about 60 other /REI guests for this wonderful  program and movie about Georgia's beloved National Seashore.  The movie focused on both the natural history, flora and fauna of the Island and on its human history spanning many centuries.  It included much fascinating footage and numerous old photos - esp. of the Carnegie era, the Island's tradition of "strong women,"  and of the critical time in the early 70s when all-important steps were taken preserve Cumberland Island and its wilderness for generations to come.
