I won't lie...6:20 am came really early for a Saturday morning, but that's when we started our sunrise hike at Pine Mountain in Cartersville. We arrived at the summit overlook to a nice glow on the horizon. I read that sunrise was at 7:10, but apparently I had the wrong info. It rose around 7:40, but the group said if I did it again, don't change the time. We had time to take some pics and do short introductions while waiting. After sunrise, we hiked the rest of the west loop and on to Coopers Furnace. We took a nice break at the Allatoona Damn Visitor Center before hiking back on the other side of the East loop and out on the West loop. Great 8 1/2 mile hike with a fun group.
