Write Up:
First, I would like to thank the spirited group for not hanging me half way up the steep climb on this unmarked hike up Yonah (I agree, this was a D3+ hike). This was the first time an AOC trip ascended Yonah from this direction and it was certainly memorable.

However, we conquered the route and were rewarded with wonderful views of the western sky and an almost cloud-free pink sunset. Within 1 minute of the sun setting, the north winds decided to blow, so we left the outcrop viewing area for the sheltered side of the mountain and began feeling our way down the mountain in shin-deep leaf debris. For half of our descent, we were fortunate enough to have the full moon to our left and the fiery pink horizon to our right.

With very few aberrations down the mountain ridge, we finished our hike and warmed up at our trip leader's mountain cabin and refueled with chili waiting for us on the stove. After dinner, we celebrated Tony's 200th AOC trip lead with an Oreo Cake.
