Lake Lanier Islands turned out to be a FANTASTIC adventure!  We were on an exploratory hike, not knowing what we would find - - and most certainly, this will be a place we return to many times over.  Lauren even bought a year's entrance pass ($50), figuring that she would save money on the $10 day pass.  We climbed across rocks, saw beautiful beaches, hiked soft, pine-needle trails, caught sight of deer and deer tracks, and had a nice lunch at Cracker Barrel after the hike.  We decided that the next hike here will be a hike and swim event.  It's just a wonderful place to spend the day!  (Lauren and Joyce scouted out a couple of other trails that may soon appear as events for the AOC.)
