Our group of 12 AOC volunteers had fun together Saturday morning while celebrating National Trails Day in fine style.  We enjoyed pitching in with other friendly folks from the CRNRA, REI and the public at large and working together to improve the trail system along the river corridor near I-285.  Our "Group 5" assignment was to pile up lots of brush to make it clear to hikers that a certain heavily eroded section of trail between the Cochran Shoals and Sope Creek units is being detoured to allow it time to re-vegetate.
Our special thanks to my friend and co-leader Paula Schubert for doing her usual fine job helping coordinate such a event and for posting her fine Facebook photo album to this archive! Nice snake!  -Charlie Cottingham, June 4th
