On Saturday, 10 energetic folks took advantage of a most beautiful day to enjoy the lush green of summertime Springer Mountain. None chose to continue to Maine. While enjoying an early afternoon stop at the Hike Inn, word came that a big black bear had been spotted on the trail up to the inn. Unfortunately it was not spotted again by our troup on our last leg. Special kudos to a couple hikers who completed their longest day hike yet!

Flora highlights: Blooming rhododendron, flame azalea, hydrangea, fire pink, & galax, among many others.
