Our group of 12, including a couple new members, Brigette and Ron, enjoyed a leisurely evening sipping hot beverages while taking in an educational program. This particular program brought out the kid in each of us! Afterwards, we set off on our night hike under the nearly full moon. The moonlight glistened along the swiftly moving currents of the river as crickets chirped along the path. As we moved away from the river the sounds of wildlife diminished. Scary tales and sneaky pranks set the theme as we paced along. The hoots of owls that had been heard earlier had fallen earily silent. Several sets of eyes appeared throughout the darkness adding to the excitement. As we neared the end of our night hike, the silence was broken by an explosion of fireworks in the near distance as football fans celebrated their teams' success.
