Accompanied by a brilliant sun and crisp cool air, we had a great time at Cochran Mill today.  Taking in the beautiful trails and numerous falls on Little Bear and Bear creek we hiked our way eventually to the wonderful Nature Center.  At the nature center we enjoyed looking at the birds of prey, venomous and non-venomous snakes, bats, legless lizards and even a couple of alligators!  Finally we closed out our awesome walk in the woods with a creek crossing on the way back.  All hikers demonstrated great skill in rock hopping, and not a soul went creek crashing!  After the hike about half of us headed over to the Blue Eyed Daisy in nearby Serenbe and had a marvelous lunch (Kathryn, in an incredible show of self-control and generosity, shared some of her cupcakes with the rest of us).  Special congrats to Marie, Timothy, and Rudy for joining us today on their first official AOC hike! - A Happy Hiker
