Perfect weather, a great group of hikers: how could it not be a stellar hike. Four of us bushwhacked to the top of Kelly, through the briars, following what turned out to be an animal trail. There is a bit of a winter view of Tray, and it is definitely higher and more thrilling than from the lunch lookout, but we'd have to clear a few trees to really make it good. Back at the trailhead we met one of the local trail magicians, who was collecting his empty cooler of refreshments for the through hikers.

Correction to the hike description: total distance to Addis Gap and back is 10.8 miles, plus .2 miles for the bushwhack, yielding 11 miles.
