A partly cloudy day with cold winds required us to wear our gloves even at this local hike, but the AOC hikers enjoyed a moderate pace led by Sarge. As usual, it was nice to take the Stream Ecology loop especially watching some people swinging through the treetop obstacle course. We visited the 2 council rings, went down to take photos of the Ivy creek and witnessed the amazing waterflow of the dam. We then proceeded to the Ivy Creek Greenway and met their maintenance staff who were working on the bird sanctuary. The trail was a bit muddy from the past days' rain, but did not infringe our goal to enjoy this hike. We finished in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
