Eagle, Sea Otter, Dolphin, Pacific Parrotlet, and West Highland Terrier gathered to kick off the weekend early at Stone Mountain.  Can you guess which hiker is matched to which animal alter ego?

We veered away from the main walkup trail to hike along the path less traveled to the summit.  We were rewarded with a peaceful trek and multiple sightings of trout lilies.  These beautiful yellow lilies with variegated leaves are found in the woods in late winter; when the trout lily blooms it is good trout fishing time.

At the top, we paused for some good conversation, basking in the sun, and watching some barefoot frolickers splash in a shallow pool.  Returning down to the base of the mountain, we savored the camaraderie of our happy five-some before separating to carry on with our days.
