     Thirteen (hikers) is indeed a lucky number as Tom led a great group of AOCers from Unicoi gap to the top (and back down) of tray mountain.  It was a fun and strenuous 10+ mile hike.  At the top we enjoyed a wonderful cornucopia of snacks, fruit, sandwiches, and even a really yummy looking sweet potato!  On the way down we met up with around a dozen friendly folks barely beginning their quest of a thru-hike of the AT – Including an older man who along with his dog completed a thru-hike just last year.  As a wonderful surprise bonus we were met at the end of our hike with a cheerful, bunny-eared group of folks handing out free “trail magic” – including hard-boiled Easter Eggs, Chocolate Rabbits, soft drinks and more! What a nice ending to an awesome day trekking up and down Tray Mountain.
