The group met at the carpool location, completed their waivers and departed on time. Although, the first group made it to Anna Ruby Falls in a timely manner the second group took the scenic route! We will always remember the gas station guy that refused to let us buy a road map, saying many times we didnt need one!

Once at Anna Ruby Falls, we lay on our backs and enjoyed the falls while soaking up some sun. The falls were truly pretty. We decided to saddle up and head over to Raven Cliffs.

Interestingly, Raven Cliffs and the Falls at Dukes Creek share the same road. The group stopped at the first parking lot, paid the fee and was looking forward to the 4.5 mile hike. Too bad none of us really paid much attention to the signs since we ended up hiking Dukes Creek and not Raven Cliffs! The Falls at Dukes Creek trail is about a mile and a half, but the falls were worth the hike! They were much higher in elevation than we expected, and there were many observation points for viewing the falls and the stream.

Part of the group decided to go ahead and hike Raven Cliffs, while the second group returned to Atlanta in order to meet prior commitments. All in all it was a fun day, with great weather for hiking, and many people made new friends!
