After all the rain this past weekend, the creeks and streams at East Palisades were full and flowing, the river was high, and the trails were a bit muddy.  Our friendly group of 17 hikers stuck together throughout the hike - not a straggler in the bunch!  After a quick trip through the  bamboo forest, we enjoyed a brief but beautiful sunset break at the rock outcropping overlooking the river - thank you, Lisa M., for posting photos of our group at this spot.  After climbing the BAH to the second overlook, twilight quickly descended upon us, and we returned to the parking lot in semi-darkness.  At 1100 feet of ascent over the course of 6 miles, and a moving pace of 3 miles per hour, this was a perfect D3.
