Write Up:

Despite the forecast of rain, thirteen intrepid AOCers gathered at the Panther Creek trailhead for a day of hiking and swimming.  We enjoyed each other's company on the way to the falls, picking our way along the roots and rocks of the green-blazed trail.  Our journey was rewarded with thunderous rapids and a spectacular water flow, a result of the recent tumultuous downpours. After a brief snack, we forged ahead to the exploratory segment of the hike.  Alas, we were thwarted by a overabundance of fallen trees that completely blocked the trail.  After attempting to cross, we determined it was unsafe to continue, and reluctantly turned back.  As we returned to the falls, a steady soaking rain greeted us.  We donned raingear, said farewell to the falls for now, and retraced our steps to the cars.  Most of us took shelter from the rain under the roof of the Korean barbeque retaurant, surrounded by heaping piles of meat.
