Write Up:
We did Libby proud. This was to be her hike, but work got in the way so Joyce was the willing substitute. The goal for the hike was to beat the record pace of 1:47 for the 6.2 miles. Sixteen folks were raring to go and handily met the challenge. We stopped only a couple of times and actually did a bit of running once we got to the gravel path. Our determination paid off with an "average" finish time of 1:43:45. How proud we were! We took a final group photo which shows the exuberant spirit of the participants. Kudos to Laura R. (Laura #2 on the hike) who did this fast paced hike as her very first AOC event. She did great, as did everyone else. You trained them well, Libby! [photos will be posted soon]
