Hip-Hip-Hooray!...for the twelve cheerful AOC volunteers who joined me yesterday for this wonderful "Give-Back-to-Nature" annual event which began and ended at a gorgeous riverfront home on the Etowah River in the north GA mountains.
My friend and co-leader Jerry Kelley writes, "I gotta say, Thanks! The cause was good, the paddle was great, the hosts and company were great! I stayed til after 9:00 talking with Elvin and Nancy...really made for a great day!"
We're proud to have built upon Paula Schubert's superb tradition of AOC participation in a similar "Rivers Alive" cleanup at Woodstock's, "Olde Rope Park."About 30 more AOCers pitched in there yesterday.  Jointly our 45 or so Club volunteers collected hundreds of pounds of unsightly river refuse while having lots fun together in the process.  -Submitted by Charlie, Sun AM Oct 13
