A perfect day! How could it have been otherwise with such fantastic weather, gorgeous scenery, and jolly group. Plenty of other hikers on the trail too.

It is obvious that the Forest Service is no longer mowing the meadow on Siler Bald, for it has now been several summers that the meadow hasn't been cut, and it is starting to fill in. There is not much we can do about the meadow, but if we want to maintain the wide-open view at the top, we'll have to keep it clear ourselves. So we cut away a line of bushes that were starting to obstruct the view. We'll do more next time.
