Write Up:
We all met up at the Chastain Park-n-Ride with excitement. Most have never been caving! I was really looking forward for them to experience caving. It was pouring down rain on the way to Chattanooga, but that didn't matter since we were going to be down in a cave. We arrive at the Raccoon Mountain Caverns and signed the necessary paperwork (waivers). Then, we got geared up with knee pads, gloves and helmets w/ headlamps. We ventured our way through the cave. Some memorable points in the cave were Crystal Palace, the birth Canal, the canyon passage, the Echo room, the Sandpaper Slide, 49-cent Squeeze, and of course those belly crawls. Afterwards, some of us went and had lunch. It was a great time!
