It was a fantastic event . . .

The overcast skies gave way to bright sunshine, so that our jackets and gloves were soon removed as we worked up a good dose of body heat.  There were some mushy places on the trail, but nothing to complain about.  We enjoyed our time at the quarry pond, marvelling at the antics of the younger folks on the hike.  I've never had so many "youngsters" on a local event!  They were fun to watch as they climbed up the big rocks and happily posed for photos. (I love you guys!!! You were great subjects for my eager camera!)

Eight of us extended the fun by driving into Cartersville for lunch at SWheat.  The diner was honored with a plaque proclaiming it as the number one eating place in Bartow County!  No surprise there - - its food never failes to please everyone who tries their soups, salads, and sandwiches.  I had to take pictures of the before and after table.  There wasn't much left on the plates!
