A full group of 14 made this hike at Big Trees Forest Preserve an genuinely enjoyable one.  We kept the pace very moderate to accommodate some of the injuries from which several of the members were recovering.  It was great to see Dave-o's wife, Kim, back on the trail after her knee surgery, and to meet  Joe's wife, Imy. We welcomed a brand new member, Brad, who has already expressed a keen interest in becoming a future AOC Trip Leader.  He'll be a definitely asset on the trails once he's been in the club long enough to start the PTL  (potential trip leader) process..  So nice to meet Laura B.and to see so many friends from the past.

Sadly, there are many downed trees in the area, making the landscape especially stark at present; however, the scenery will again be beautiful in this sequestered little area once spring arrives.  The best news is the brand new bathroom at the entrance to the trail!
