This afternoon 12 AOCers enjoyed a hike at West Palisades We started off with a heart pumping climb as we progressed into the woods. As we moved along at a brisk pace we were able to confirm that a falling tree does make a sound in the forest. We couldn't see it but it more than captured our attention. I'm sure the high wind gusts where responsible.

Our half way point brought us to the river where looking across we could see East Palisades. Lauren took the time to point out the location of the Bamboo forest, the cliffs, the look out platform, and the BAH.

After viewing East Palisades we headed back  along the river tiill we had to head back into the forest. After a brief mile or so in the forest we ended back at the rivers edge as we progressed to our final destination, the parking lot.

Our total trip covered 4.75 miles in 1 hour 30 minutes. Thanks Lauren for showing us the way.
