Write Up:What a lovely, warm spring day for a hike around Sope Creek. We passed up the ruins so that we could cover more distance - - and distance we did cover! After several miles around the Sope Creek trails, we took a seldom-hiked bike trail that took us all the way down to the middle section of Cochran Shoals. We passed the cemetery on our way back and then followed Libby's 10K route back to Sibley Pond, logging 6.5 miles in a little over 2 hours. Those pond logs are always full of turtles sunning themselves, and May Apples are sprouting up in abundance along sections of the trail. Hiking is great therapy for whatever ails the troubled spirit.
