Never cancel, LOL! Eight hardy hikers braved the gloomy weather forecast this morning to explore Sope Creek and had a great hike.  We covered six miles in two hours, despite the sometimes muddy conditions, traveling down into Cochran Shoals and then back up into Sope Creek.

We were glad we wore our sunscreen, and some hikers had to be discouraged from going for a quick swim in the creek since it only drizzled on us periodically. : )

After completing our hike, we gathered for a group selfie, then discovered that two of our cars had been broken into while were were hiking. We believe we interrupted the vandals before they could break into further cars, but it was still frustrating for the victims. Several of our fellow AOC'ers hung out to lend their assistance and support until the police arrived to take our statements, so thanks ya'll!

Note to other hikers: as always, be very careful not to leave anything out visible in your cars that might tempt thieves.  Today they made off with a phone, iPod and towel (yes, towel), but it could have been worse!
