Itinerary:

Join us on a trek through the historic Druid Hills and Candler Park areas.  We'll start at the Giant Skull at The Vortex in Little Five Points at 9am and head north on Moreland to Ponce De Leon. From there we'll stroll down Ponce toward the Olmstead Parks that parallel the road.  These parks are on the National Register of Historic Places for their unique design.  From here we'll check out the Rose Garden at Fernbank Museum, then continue along to Deepdene Park.

After Deepdene we'll head towards the Candler Park area where we'll head down along Mclendon to see the unique shops along the way.  In Candler Park we'll stop for a quick look at the market and pass by The Flying Biscuit

From Candler Park we'll head towards Little Five Points where we'll break for lunch at the Infamous "Vortex" or another local establishment!

The entire distance is approx 7 miles - with a little room for some exploring.

If you sign up, come with a wilingness to see new areas and a flexibility to go with the flow if changes have to be made along the way. Plan on three hours for the hike and about an hour for lunch.

Most of the trip is along sidewalks or paved paths, with a few areas that we'll have to cross streets or skirt the road.
