Itinerary:

Up the Creek Without a Pedal is an official BRAG training ride.  Coosa Valley Cycling Association, CVCA is a “Proud BRAG Partner”.

Participants will also need to register for this ride by downloading a form from www.cvca.org or by registering here Registration

CVCA sponsors two big cycling events each year. The first, “Up The Creek Without A Pedal” is held each year on the second Saturday in May and has the reputation of one of the best rides in our area. Year after year, cyclists from around the southeast have commented on the beautiful scenery, helpful staff and great support.

Come enjoy one of Northwest Georgia’s “must do” rides on May 9th in Rome, GA. The ride offers 28, 50, 68, 101 & 105 mile route options, all on scenic rural roads with very little traffic. All routes, except the 28 mile, will take riders through the “Pocket area” on one of the “best cycling roads in Georgia.”

The 28 mile route is fairly flat with no big hills.

The 50 and 68 mile routes are mostly flat to gently rolling with a few moderate hills.

The 101 and 105 mile options were revised last year, resulting in fewer  hills (faster). The 105 mile option includes a short climb over Little Sand Mt. The 101 mile option will NOT include the climb.

All routes are fully sagged with well-stocked rest stops approximately every 15-18 miles. Tech support, Ham radio operators, medical, and police support will provide a safe ride for all participants.

UTC has a NEW downtown Rome INDOOR  start/finish at THE FORUM (301 Tribune St.).  Ride STARTS at 8 A.M.   REGISTRATION open at 6:30 A.M.  Ride ENDS at 4 P.M. We will not be allowed entry to indoor facility after 4 p.m. If you plan to do the century and can not be finished by 4 p.m., you should start earlier or be prepared not to have access to indoor facilities at the end. There are several restaurants in the area with facilities.

The post-ride meal will be your choice of a pre-determined “cyclist’s special” meal at various restaurants on Broad St. and the surrounding area. Tax will be included in your voucher.  More information will be posted here as it becomes available.   See this form for restaurant options.  revised utc restaurant options
