Itinerary:

We're gonna try this again and hope for better weather!

Chattanooga is  one of those super fun, active, outdoorsy, artsy kind of towns!!  We are heading that way for some biking and exploring, so come join us.

Before you read any further, please know this will be a long day, so if you are in a hurry to get back to Atlanta on Sunday, this may not be the event for you. :)

We'll begin our Chattanooga adventure by biking the Tennesee Riverwalk from the base of the Chickamauga Dam to downtown Chattanooga. The Riverwalk is a multi- use paved path that parrallels the beautiful Tennesse River for most of the way. If you want to stop at anytime during the ride into Chattanooga, please do.  There's a ton of places along the way where the blue heron hang out and overall a lot of scenery to soak in. We are planning to explore the park near the Bluff View Art District area before crossing over the TN River via the Wa lnut Street Bridge.

Once we cross the Walnut Street Bridge, we'll lock up our bikes and take an approximate 2 hour lunch break to eat, picnic, explore, and play in the North Shore area. Here you will find Coolidge Park where there's a 100 year old Carousel ($1 a ride), lots of art in the park and surrounding areas, nice views of the TN river and picnic tables.  Directly behind the park, there's shops, restaurants, and Clumpies ice Cream (*smile*).  Bring your lunch or eat at one of the restaurants in town. Your TL will more than likely bring lunch to eat in the park, grab ice cream at clumpies and ride the carousel, several times. :). You're only as old as yu feel! :)

We'll gather as a group before heading back across the Walnut Street Pedestrian bridge to go explore the Hunter Arts Museum.   Admissision is free the first Sunday of every month, so we'll spend and hour or two in the museum before heading back to the cars via the TN Riverwalk.

Talk with your car pool drivers if you're interested in stopping for dinner. There will be at least one group stopping for Chinese in Calhoun. Dinner should be worked out prior to the trip.

* A Special Thanks to Paula! This is an attempt to mimic her excellent past adventures here.

Total biking mileage is 16 miles.

- Use proper bike etiquette.  If you need to pass, pass on the left and when you do, let folks know you are passing "On the left".  Non-bikers are very appreciative of this simple shout out.
