Itinerary:

Daylight Savings begins March 8th, which means we SPRING forward and gain an hour of daylight for after work activities!!  YAY!!

So with that said, come out and join me for for an after work bike ride on the Alpharetta section of the Big Creek Greenway. We'll begin from Marconi Drive, which is the top end of the Alpharetta section.

The Greenway is primarily a 12-foot wide concrete path that meanders through the deciduous woods along Big Creek. It offers an ideal setting for walking, jogging, inline roller blading, and biking. The trail is approximately 8.3 miles in length. We'll be biking in and out for a total of 16.6 miles.

Speed limit on the Alpharetta Greenway is 15 MPH.

We normally ride around 12-14 MPH depending on the group and traffic on the Greenway.

IMPORTANT NOTE(s):

  • YOU are responsible for your bike maintenance or repairs on the trail.
  • All levels of riding ability and all types of bikes are welcome.
  • Bike Helmet is REQUIRED! (No helmet, no ride)

  • Bike (All types are welcome)
  • Helmet is REQUIRED!
  • Water
  • Spare tire tube
  • Tool(s) for removing your wheel (for those who do not have quick-release wheels)

- Head northeast on US-19 N
- Take exit 11 for Windward Pkwy toward Alpharetta
- Turn right onto Windward Pkwy
- Turn right onto Marconi Dr

The parking lot will be on your left

Notes:

You MUST be able to perform your own bike maintenance should you have any mechanical issues.

It's always a good idea to do some pre-bike maintenance before you begin the ride to make sure everything is functioning properly.  Recommended to do this prior to the event, so we aren't waiting on you prior to a group ride.


* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.
