Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

We will explore the trails in Back Rock Mountain State Park and look for early wildflowers and vistas as far as 80 miles into North and South Carolina and Tennessee. The James E. Edmond Backcountry trail is a 7.2 mile loop promising small waterfalls along cascading streams and a summit vista. The Tennessee Rock Trail is 2.2 miles and promises more views of mountain ranges.

We will meet at the visitors center in the park at 8:30 am.

There will be a state park parking fee.

You may bring your dog but dogs must be on leash at all times and not interfere with other hikers or dogs.

We will meet at the state park visitors center at 8:30 am.

From Sugarloaf Mills Park and Ride, go north on I-85

Merge in to left lanes and continue on I-985

I-985 will turn into US-23 N/US-441 N/GA-15

Continue on 441 through Clayton

Turn left on Black Rock Mountain Parkway, 3 miles north of Clayton off U.S. Hwy. 441. Look for brown directional signs in Mountain City.

The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver.
