Itinerary:

Let's go wander around the woods for awhile after work today. While this isn't one of my "official" Fungus AmongUs hikes, note that I'll be keeping my eyes open! :) Rumor has it that the black morels have begun appearing. Yum!

Blanket’s Creek is best known as one of the top mountain biking trails in the Southeast, but hiking is permitted. It’s maintained by SORBA, and you will need to drop $1 in the donation box to help keep the trails in top shape. It’s a GREAT way to spend a dollar!

Because it’s a mountain biking trail, it means bikes have the right of way. And THAT means you will need to be prepared to get out of the way very fast. A collision with a mountain bike hurts A LOT. Trust me.

We’ll meet in front of the bathrooms (YES, they have REAL bathrooms now) at 6:45ish, so we can begin our hike at 6:50pm, sharp. (REMEMBER YOUR $1 to cover trail maintenance!)

We’ll probably hike about 2 miles, and most is pretty flat with just a few very minor elevation gains. The pace will be moderate.

Note: I'm bringing my dog, and if you're able to keep yours on a very short leash (due to the bikes), you're welcome to bring him or her. No retractable leashes, and be prepared to clean up & pack out any messes your furry BFF makes.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Take 575 North to Sixes Road.

Turn left

Drive a few miles and look for the Blanket's Creek trail sign, or just follow one of the many SUV's with bikes that you'll see on this road.

Blanket's Creek is on the left; you will need to make a U-Turn to get there if coming from 575.
