Itinerary:

Come join us for a leisurely to moderate paced, dog-friendly hike along the Alpharetta Greenway on Sunday afternoon.

The Big Creek Greenway Trail in Alpharetta is a 12-ft wide, 8-mile concrete trail that meanders through the deciduous woods along Big Creek. We will be meeting at the trail entrance near the Alpharetta YMCA, and then we will walk for approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours and cover about 4-5 miles of the trail. The entire greenway is extremely flat, so it is a perfect event for people and dogs of all fitness levels, as well as those brand new to hiking.

All dogs must be well-behaved and friendly towards people and dogs of all sizes.  Owners must keep their dogs on a leash at all times and clean up after their pets on the trail.


Required Items to Bring:

- Hiking or other comfortable walking shoes
- Plenty of water for you and your dog
- 6-foot non-retractable leash
- Pooper scoopers

Take GA 400 North to Exit 10, Old Milton Parkway. Turn right at the end of the ramp and move to the left lane. At 0.6 miles turn left on Northpoint Parkway, travel 0.4 miles, and make a right on Preston Ridge Road. On-road parking is 0.1 mile down on the right before reaching the Alpharetta YMCA parking lot.
