Itinerary:

This will be about a six mile hike, at a steady moderate pace, with some stops.

Vickery Creek, aka Big Creek, is one of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Areas. It is located right off the Square, in Roswell.

We will walk down the street from the parking lot to a bridge across the creek. From there we will basically walk counter clockwise around the trails in the park. The creek is large and scenic. The woods are a bit scruffy in spots, but they are ok. There is one tricky spot in the gorge, but we will get thru it. We will leave the creek and return to it. Toward the end, back at the creek, we will visit the old dam, originally built in 1836, with the waterfall now flowing over it. Then its back across the bridge to the parking lot.

For those who are hungry by then, we will pick a lunch spot from one of the restaurants there around Roswell Square.
