Itinerary:
***Jog or run at your own pace*** If you're up for an early morning jog or run, and want to log in some miles, or simply want to take a pleasant scenic jog, come join us at Cochran Shoals on Saturday. Cochran Shoals is next to the Chattahoochee River where people jog, run, ride bikes, & walk dogs. The trail heads north along the river; the Cochran Shoals Fitness Trail is a 3-mile loop with the parking area at Columns Drive as the halfway point. Columns Drive itself can be combined for an 8-mile run. There are also some side trails near the main trails to explore if you feel adventurous.br>
Notes:

  • All natural and cultural features are FEDERALLY protected.
  • Stay on the designated trails.
  • No bikes on trails unless specifically noted.
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times.
  • Be aware of rapid rising water levels.
  • No glass containers on the river.
  • Park Unit is closed to public use at dark.

    Please remember a $3.00 daily or $25.00 annual Park Pass is required on parked vehicles in the National Park.

    How to Get There:
    Event Directions:From I-75 north, take I-285 (the perimeter highway) east towards Augusta. Exit soon at Northside Drive; turn left on Northside Drive, which circles around and crosses onto Interstate North Parkway. [From I-85 north, Take I-285 west, exit Northside Drive, which crosses onto Interstate North Parkway.] River parking lots are next to bridge off Parkway; parking fees may apply. The trail heads north along the river; the Cochran Shoals Fitness Trail is a 3-mile loop with the parking area at Columns Drive as the halfway point. Columns Drive itself can be combined for an 8-miler. Hours are from dawn to dusk.
