Surrounded on three sides by Lake Allatoona, named for its rich red color caused by its high iron-ore content, Red Top Mountain was once an important iron mine. We are planning to do the Homestead Trail, which is a 5.5 mile loop with a number of opportunities to observe wildlife and spectacular views. Close encounters with wildlife are very possible, so bring your camera!!
