Itinerary:
Come on out and join us for an after work workout hike. We will meet up and start at the Kennesaw National Battle Field Park visitor’s center. When we are gathered, we will be taking a fairly quick paced 5 mile clockwise trek on this trail, meaning we will be going up the back areas of Pigeon Hill to Little Kennesaw then up to Big Kennesaw where we will make our way back down to the visitor’s center. This is a moderate to semi strenuous hike, and not one for first time hikers as we will be hiking sections that are more difficult than just the ‘easy tourist‘ section. The park closes at 8pm, being on time and ready to go is very important, we will only wait 10 extra minutes before we step off.

POISON IVY, the plant is out in mass this year. The trail at KM is well maintained but there are always a few of the "not-so-friendly" weeds that reach out over the trail. There are products on the market that can help guard against exposure, plus as an extra precaution you might add rubbing alcohol to your list of things to bring, so you can wipe off your legs arms, poles etc., after the hike.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of fluids (min. of 3 liters) and a snack
Hiking boots or trail shoes
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Hiking poles

How to Get There:
Event Directions:75 North to Barrett Parkway (exit 269), turn left onto Barrett Parkway, go 1.9 miles to Old Hwy 41 turn left, go 1.5 miles and turn right onto Stilesboro, the parking lot for the visitors center is on your immediate left. If it is a beautiful day out, parking may be crowded, you can park on the side of the road off of Old Hwy 41, you will see other vehicles parked there.

Notes:
This event will be cancelled if there is severe weather...we will still hike if it is a light rain.
