Itinerary:

Join us for a short hike along the Chattahoochee River. This unit of the Chattahoochee NRA contains several trails that we should able to combine for three to four miles of total hiking.

There is one section that has a little elevation gain, but a majority of the trails are fairly level. The scenery is fairly good on these trails as much of the hike is right next to the Chattahoochee River. There are also some interesting rock formations we will see along with some shoals on the river.

How to Get There:

Event Directions:

From I-285 go north on GA 400 until exit 6 which is Northridge Drive. Take right and crossover GA 400. Right after crossing over 400 take a right a Dunwoody Place. Go through two lights and then take a right on Roberts Drive. Cross back over GA 400 and until you reach Island Ford unit of Chattahoochee NRA. Go to second parking lot on left.

From Alpharetta on GA 400. Go south on GA 400 until exit 6 which is Northridge Drive. Stay in center lane on exit. Go staright crossing over Northridge Dr. You will now be on Dunwoody Place. Go through two lights and then take a right on Roberts Drive. Cross back over GA 400 and until you reach Island Ford unit of Chattahoochee NRA. Go to first parking lot on left. This should be soon after you enter the park.

You may want to put Island Ford Parkway, Roswell GA in your favorite map website or GPS to find the location.

Notes:

According to park regulations dogs must be on 6 ft. leash at all times.
